In the last year since the Windows Vista Operating system was released, we heard criticism, complaints about UAC, Apple stepping up its Ad Campaign to poke fun at Vista and even some users wanting to stay with XP and skip the "Vista Experience." All of this while Microsoft has seen millions of users adopting its operating system. With Windows XP ending availablility June 30th 2008, those wanting a computer system may have to elect to take Vista. Some Manufacturers are recommending to users not sure if they would like Windows Vista to get Vista Home Premium to excercise downgrade rights back to XP after the June 30th cutoff.

Windows Vista DesktopVista is different, much more then XP was when we saw the change from Windows 98SE or Windows ME to XP. That change also created some havoc back then and over time, it has become a true workhorse. With Vista, the Interface, the usability and the features are all pretty much reworked. While I have to agree that XP Pro did what I needed, I still find some features of Windows Vista that are appealing and sometimes, just a matter of finding them. Windows Vista Shadow Copy is one of the features we don't hear about yet provides an incredible safety feature for the accidental deletion of data from the computer. Vista also uses a feature titled super fetch which optimizes your system over time for the loading of programs as the user runs programs frequently.

We talked with Darren Hook, Global Escalation Manager for Microsoft, about some of the features of Windows Vista and what some of the benefits are for the end user. What program should be run frequently for the best use of Windows Vista? We found out about some of the features and tips to get even better use of the operating system and why the User Account Control is a good idea to benefit most users.
